Amidst the cheers and screams of fans supporting their favorite teams at the very first Mobile Legends Bang Bang (M1) World Championship 2019, Moonton and Forest Interactive agreed to team up to build e-sports in Malaysia and turn it into the next major global hub. Moonton’s Logan Shaw and Leon Zhang attended the event.
It is not a coincidence that Kuala Lumpur was chosen as the location for the first Mobile Legends Championship. The huge visitor turnout and spectacular vibe of the pioneer event held from the 15th to the 17th of November in the Axiata Arena didn’t just prove that Malaysia is more than capable of hosting e-sports events of this scale but also that the local gaming community is ready for more.
Moonton went all out when organizing this extravagant tournament with a prize pool of 250.000 USD, high end technology, world class commentators and advanced stagecraft resulting in intense and incredibly engaging battles between the best teams from over 7 countries.
Especially the grand final between the two Indonesian teams Rex Regum Qeon and Evos Legends had spectators on the edge of their seats and ended in a very emotional and nerve wrecking comeback by Evos Legends who turned a 1:3 score into a 4:3 victory going down in history as the first team to win a MLBB Championship. But the story doesn’t end there. Right after the celebration of the winning team, Moonton already announced next year’s world championship in Jakarta.
The mobile gaming giant has found a like-minded partner in the Forest Interactive team which has already organized several e-sports and gaming events throughout Malaysia and Southeast Asia in an attempt to push the local e-sports scene. After having been very active in promoting the march of e-sports towards mainstream popularity and growing local e-sports talents through FIGHT: Forest Interactive Gaming Habitat Teams events, Forest Interactive is now ready for the next big step forward by partnering up with the most wanted multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA).
Besides FIGHT, Forest Interactive also just officiated the partnership with Moonton by adding Mobile Legends: Bang Bang diamonds as one of Wallet Codes’ products on November 3, 2019, at the Level Up Play event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Wallet Codes is a convenient online e-commerce shop for gaming Gift Cards & Digital Vouchers with competitive prices and numerous payment methods.
With 230 million downloads and an average of 20 million daily users Mobile Legends is going to be a game changer and major force behind the evolution from desktop to mobile gaming. By spearheading this development, Forest Interactive and Moonton are creating a unique opportunity for Malaysia to become a global leader in this industry.
